Roku is the weakest choice for IPTV specifically, because it does not permit sideloaded apps, so every provider has to reach it through screen mirroring.

- Spend the extra $20 on a current-generation stick rather than a discounted older one. The difference is RAM, and RAM is what gives the player somewhere to buffer when your network dips — which is the actual cause of most stuttering people blame on their provider.
- Wire the main television if you possibly can. A $10 Ethernet cable beats a $200 router upgrade for a device that never moves, because live TV is more sensitive to jitter than to raw bandwidth.
