How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung Smart TV

By ·Updated October 17, 2026

To watch IPTV on a Samsung smart TV, open the Samsung app store on your Tizen TV, install a player such as SS IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro, and add your playlist using the M3U link or the Xtream Codes server URL, username and password we send on WhatsApp when you try our IPTV service on a Samsung TV. Channels and the TV guide then load inside the app. Most Samsung models from about 2017 onward work this way. If your TV has no suitable app, a Firestick plugged into HDMI is the reliable fallback.

What You Need

  • ✓Samsung smart TV running Tizen (roughly 2017 or newer)
  • ✓Home broadband: 10 Mbps+ for HD, 25 Mbps+ for 4K
  • ✓Your login: Server URL, Username and Password, or an M3U link
  • ✓A phone or computer nearby, since many TV players let you add the playlist through a website

To check your TV's software, open Settings → Support → About This TV. The model code's letter shows the year, and the software version confirms it runs Tizen.

Method 1: Install SS IPTV from the Samsung App Store (Easiest)

1Press the Home button on your Samsung remote and open Apps.
2Select the search icon and look for 'SS IPTV'.
3Install it, then open the app.
4Note the connection code shown in the app's settings.
5On your phone or computer, open the SS IPTV website, enter that code, and add your M3U link as an external playlist.
6Back on the TV, reopen SS IPTV. Your channels appear on the main screen.

💡 Adding the playlist from your phone avoids typing a long URL with the TV remote.

Method 2: An Xtream Codes Player (IPTV Smarters Pro and Similar)

1Search Apps for 'IPTV Smarters' or another player that lists Xtream Codes login.
2Install and open the app.
3Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
4Enter your Server URL, Username and Password exactly as they appear in WhatsApp.
5Select Add User or Login. Live TV, movies, series and the guide load in separate sections.

Xtream Codes logins give you the guide, catch-up and on-demand sections in one place, which is why most people prefer this route when the app is available. Our IPTV Smarters setup in a few minutes walks through every screen.

Method 3: Developer Mode (Advanced)

1Open Apps on the TV, then press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the remote's number pad.
2Switch Developer Mode on and enter your computer's local IP address.
3Restart the TV when asked.
4On your computer, use Samsung's Tizen Studio to install a Tizen app package (.wgt) supplied by the player's developer.
5Open the app and sign in with your Xtream Codes details.

💡 Developer mode is for advanced users and only helps if a trustworthy Tizen package exists. Most people should use Method 1 or 2, or an external stick.

Troubleshooting Samsung TV IPTV

❓ App not in Samsung Store

Listings differ by region and model year. Try another player, or connect a Firestick to your Samsung TV's HDMI port instead.

❓ Channels not loading

Check your connection in Settings → General → Network → Network Status. Samsung TVs perform best on a 5GHz Wi-Fi band or wired Ethernet.

❓ Buffering on 4K channels

Confirm your TV is a 4K model, use Ethernet, and make sure your connection gives 25 Mbps or more.

❓ App freezes or closes

Clear the app's cache from Settings → Support → Device Care → Manage Storage, or uninstall and reinstall it.

❓ Guide shows wrong times

Set the TV's clock to automatic under Settings → General → System Manager → Time, then refresh the guide in the app.

If the app opens but no channels appear, the fixes for IPTV channels that will not load go deeper. Menu names can differ slightly between Samsung model years.

Xtream Codes or M3U on a Samsung TV

An Xtream Codes login (server URL, username and password) lets the player sort channels, films, series and catch-up into separate sections and fetch the guide automatically. An M3U link is a single URL holding the channel list; nearly every Samsung player accepts it, but you may need to add a separate guide link for listings. Use Xtream Codes when the app offers it, and M3U when it does not. Support on WhatsApp can send both.

What to Check During Your Free Trial

Built-in TV apps vary more than streaming sticks do, so the 24-hour trial matters most on a Samsung. Check:

  • ✓That the app you picked is in your store and accepts the login.
  • ✓How quickly channels switch and how fast the guide scrolls on your model.
  • ✓An HD and a 4K channel during the evening, when networks are busiest.
  • ✓Whether catch-up and on-demand films play in your chosen app.
  • ✓Your must-have channels, using the channel search.

Samsung Smart TV IPTV FAQ

Which Samsung TVs can run IPTV apps?

Samsung smart TVs running Tizen, which covers most models from about 2017 onward, can install IPTV players from the Samsung app store. Older Orsay-based models and very early Tizen sets often lack current apps; on those, plug a Firestick or Android TV box into an HDMI port instead.

What app should I use on a Samsung smart TV?

Look for a player that accepts an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login, such as SS IPTV, IPTV Smarters Pro or Smart IPTV. Which ones appear depends on your country and TV year, and some charge a one-off activation fee paid to the app's developer, not to us.

Can I use an M3U link on Samsung?

Yes. Most Samsung IPTV players accept an M3U playlist URL. Ask support on WhatsApp for your M3U link, then paste it into the app's playlist settings, often through a companion website on your phone or computer, which saves typing with the remote.

Why is IPTV not loading on my Samsung TV?

Check that the TV is online, then re-enter the login; it is case-sensitive and the server URL must include http:// and any port number. Restart the TV fully by holding the power button on the remote until the logo appears. If the app still fails, try a second player before contacting support.

Why does IPTV buffer on my Samsung TV?

Samsung TVs often sit far from the router, and their built-in Wi-Fi is weaker than a modern phone's. Use the Ethernet port on the back of the TV if you can, or a 5GHz band. Lower-cost models also have modest processors, so an external streaming stick can play large playlists more smoothly.
