What channel is the Premier League on? It depends on your country and the fixture. In the UK, live matches are split between two subscription sports broadcasters, Saturday 3pm kick-offs are not shown live, and the BBC carries highlights on Match of the Day. In the US, NBCUniversal shows matches across NBC, USA Network and Peacock. The quickest way to find a specific match is to search the team names in your TV guide or IPTV app's EPG.

Premier League Channels in the UK

The Main Subscription Sports Broadcaster

The largest share of UK live rights belongs to one subscription broadcaster, which shows most televised fixtures across the season on its dedicated Premier League and football channels, with overflow games on its other sports channels and a 4K feed for selected matches. Its slots typically include Saturday lunchtime and evening, Sunday afternoon and Monday or Friday evenings, plus many midweek games.

The Second Subscription Sports Broadcaster

A second subscription broadcaster holds a smaller package, typically including a regular Saturday kick-off. Those matches air on its own sports channels, some in 4K.

Amazon Prime Video

Prime Video showed a small number of full Premier League rounds in previous rights cycles but is not part of the UK live package that started in the 2025/26 season.

BBC (Highlights Only)

The BBC does not show live Premier League matches. Match of the Day on BBC One on Saturday nights and Match of the Day 2 on Sunday evenings carry highlights of every game, and both are available on BBC iPlayer afterwards.

The Saturday 3pm Blackout Explained

In the UK, no football is broadcast live between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on Saturdays. The rule exists to protect attendances across the football pyramid, so Premier League matches that kick off at 3pm on Saturday are not shown live on any UK channel. Highlights appear on Match of the Day that night. The blackout does not apply outside the UK, which is why the same 3pm matches are shown live in many other countries.

Premier League Channels Outside the UK

  • United States: NBCUniversal holds the rights, spreading matches across NBC, USA Network and the Peacock streaming service. Peacock carries a large share of games exclusively.
  • Canada: matches stream on Fubo's Canadian service.
  • Everywhere else: rights are sold country by country. The official Premier League website lists the broadcast partner for each territory.

If you are comparing these services, our breakdowns of Fubo versus IPTV and Sky TV versus an IPTV subscription set out what each costs and includes.

How to Find Which Channel Has Today's Match

  1. Check the fixture list on the official Premier League website or app, which shows the kick-off time and, in many countries, the broadcaster.
  2. Open your TV guide or EPG and search the team names. In an IPTV app, the guide lists live football by channel and start time.
  3. Add the channels to favourites so you can jump straight to them next week.
  4. Check again on the day: broadcasters occasionally move a match to a different channel, especially when several games overlap.

For a matchday-focused version of these steps, see our guide to watching today's fixtures.

Watching on IPTV: What to Check

An IPTV subscription brings live channels into one app with a single programme guide, which saves switching between several services. Our service lists 55,000+ live channels with EPG and catch-up TV, and works on Firestick, Android TV, Samsung, LG, Apple TV, iOS and Windows. Channel line-ups vary, so the sensible approach is to use the free 24-hour trial during a matchday and confirm that the games you want appear in the guide. Our live channel directory gives an overview of categories, and the app installation walkthroughs get you set up on each device.

Plans run for one, three, six or twelve months with no contract, and multi-device discounts are available; the full price list has the details. For UK viewers specifically, our roundup of IPTV options for UK sports fans covers what to look for.

Why Premier League Matches Change Channel and Time

The fixture list published in the summer gives every match a provisional Saturday 3pm slot. Broadcasters then pick the games they want in batches, usually several weeks ahead, and those picks move matches to lunchtime, evening, Sunday or Monday slots. A few other things also shift fixtures during the season:

  • European competition: clubs playing in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League on a Thursday night are often moved to Sunday to give them recovery time.
  • Cup rounds: FA Cup and League Cup progress can force a league match to be rearranged into a midweek slot.
  • Final day: the last round always kicks off simultaneously, with every match on at the same time.
  • Festive and international breaks: holiday fixtures come thick and fast, while international breaks pause the league for a weekend.

Because of these changes, a fixture you looked up a month ago may now be on a different day and channel. Checking the official site in the week of the match, and the EPG on the day, avoids most surprises. If you also follow European football, our pages on European kick-off times and the FA Cup final viewing guide cover those competitions.

Watching Your Home Channels While Abroad

Premier League rights are sold by territory, so the channel you use at home is usually not available when you travel. If you are on holiday or living overseas, the match will be on a different local broadcaster, often at a very different local time. A UK expat in Asia, for example, may find evening UK kick-offs landing in the middle of the night. Our article on UK channels for expats explains the options, and remember that the 3pm blackout only applies inside the UK, so a match that is never live at home may be shown live abroad.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is any Premier League shown free-to-air in the UK?

Not live. The BBC carries highlights on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, but every live UK broadcast is on subscription sports channels.

What channel is the Premier League on in the US?

NBCUniversal holds the US rights and spreads matches across NBC, USA Network and Peacock. Many games stream only on Peacock, so check the listings for each matchweek.

Why can't I find the 3pm Saturday match on UK TV?

UK broadcasters cannot show football live between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on Saturdays. Those matches are covered in highlights on Match of the Day that evening.

How do I find a match in my IPTV app?

Open the EPG and search the team names. The guide shows the channel and kick-off time, and you can add that channel to a favourites group for future matchdays.

Is Premier League on Prime Video?

Not in the UK from the 2025/26 season. Prime Video showed a small number of full rounds in earlier rights cycles, but the current UK live package is split between two subscription sports broadcasters.

When are Premier League TV picks announced?

Broadcasters announce their selections in batches, usually several weeks before the matches. Fixtures can still move later because of European or cup commitments, so check the official site in the week of the game.
